Gokulam Vatsalya Awas
While many of us are fortunate to have a family that provides us love, food, clothing, shelter and education, there are many others who are deprived of these basic necessities and are left to struggle for even one square meal a day. Didi Maa Sadhvi Rithambhara Ji felt disturbed at the apathy of the poor and took up the cause of giving them a family life & support system that each one of us deserves so much. She came across scores of people who were disowned by their families, abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Vatsalya Gram is a living gated community for those who had nowhere to go, no family to bank upon and no one to take care of their food, shelter and education. Didi Maa brought all the deprived groups such as abandoned children, destitute & homeless women, widows, and old aged women together, helped them form a family and assigned them roles to run their own families role of a mother, an aunt and a grandmother for 7-10 children. Gokulam is a residential premise that shelters one such happy family in each unit. A family generally consists of 5 girls, 2 boys, a mother, an aunt (mausi) and a grandmother (nani) with the relation forged by love. Children are provided with the best education at school within the campus. They are then supported fully in pursuing their dream careers. Currently there are 16 families consisting of 167 children and 24 women living as mothers, grandmothers and aunts at Vatsalyagram.
