Indian Civilization Re-establishment Movement

Vatsalyagram is based on ancient Indian tradition of having joint family, where young females take care of the family and elders in family guide them on various aspects. There was never any concept of orphanages in our society because each abandoned child was taken care by a family who found the child and given the family name. The child was raised as their own child. There were no old age homes as elders were important members of the family. They served as guide to younger generation, passed on age old wisdom and experiences and they were respected in the family and taken proper care. Women were secure in a family environment; hence no woman shelter homes. However, with passage of time our traditions kept getting diluted and we reached a stage where many children are abandoned, females are thrown out of the house and elders are not respected. At Vatsalyagram Vrindavan, we have attempted to eliminate the need of orphanages, women shelter homes and old age homes by giving these people Homes they call their own.
