Vision
It is not just an experience but a state of being to be a mother. It’s unlike anything else ever felt – and nothing is more divine than the relationship between a mother and a child. While many children are blessed to experience this unique bonding, many are deprived of their most basic right – the right to be loved and raised in a secure environment! If children in distress are not provided with equal access to life’s opportunities that each deserves to have, their inclusion into the mainstream society will be difficult.
India’s population is increasing at an unprecedented rate, and with that, the population of orphaned children in India also grows everyday. These children, who are often abandoned to a life of destitution and grief, do not have a lot of places to go to, and in the end lose their childhood fending for themselves and trying to keep alive on the streets.
The overstuffed orphanages in India are not the right kind of environment to bring up a happy and healthy child and it was this that gave Pujya Didi Maa Sadhvi Rithambhra the idea to create a place where children can have a normal and happy life.
Sadhvi Rithambhara envisions a country where each child has a happy childhood and is given all the resources which are necessary for their growth and development – not only physically but also emotionally and intellectually. Vatsalya Gram is a product of the vision of Didi Maa and offers a home to the orphaned and the destitute.
In the coming years, the concept of Vatsalya Gram, as seen in Vrindavan, will be replicated in several places in India so that more and more children can have a brighter future.
