About 4 years after the adoption of Alankita, her adopted mother died in the end of 2009 due to severe illness and his father Sri Harjeet Singh again married a divorcee having 13 years old girl and the misfortune of Alankita began from there. The physical as well as mental torture to Alankita by the new mother reached peak resulting into fracture of her right hand and Mr. Singh took her to the local pehlwan who provided the treatment without proper diagnosis for almost 2 months. Gradually, it became septic and decaying started instead of healing which prompted the neighbors to create pressure on Mr. Singh, who had no option than taking her to local hospitals in Ghaziabad, where they refused to admit her. Finally, she was admitted in Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital on 20.06.2010. The hospital authority, felt that this is a case of physical harassment by looking at the injuries on her body and thus informed Nav Sristhi, an organization working for women and children who in turn filed a FIR with IP Estate Police Station; Alankita was admitted in this hospital till 2.08.2010. The doctor advised to remove her limb as it has reached a stage where there is no other alternative.

Alankita was then taken to CWC Bench of Magistrate, Government of NCT of Delhi, NPS Building, Mayur Vihar Phase I, Delhi- 110 091 as this case falls under Juvenile Justice Act, 2000. The Bench of Magistrate felt that the child needs special care and attention and thus referred her to PSP run Swami Paramananda Vatsalya Mandir, Jwalanagar. Since the case is still pending with Ghaziabad Police, CWC wanted Alankita to shelter at SPVM. During her tenure with SPVM, the PSP team felt that she needs regular medical support on daily basis and thus admitted to LNJP hospital. With the special attention and care of PSP team, Alankita is recovering in the LNJP Hospital and the doctors are of the opinion that plastic surgery would help her to keep the limb.

His language was of peculiar type which was difficult to understand and also used to sing a song in the same language. However, the PSP team could guess that the language could be of some part of Bihar.
