It is said in the Rig Veda that; In the lap of the mother the soul sees. Mother is love. She is caring, she is the guide, she is the summit of all that is virtuous on earth, there is no other expression for her than Vatsalya.

The Cause

While most children in India are fortunate to feel this sublime beauty of human relationship, there are millions of them who are deprived of this nector. They end up in streets due to our social neglect and fall prey to nefarious exploitations.

The Mission

Vatsalya Gram was born out of this conviction of Didi Maa Sadhvi Ritambara ji that children are the nearest expression of God, and their service is the best prayer to his infinite glory. This is a social cause; national mission and a humanitarian commitment. Secure the Indian children, secure the future of India.

Vatsalya Family

The Vatsalya Family comprises of seven children (five girls and two boys), a mother, an aunt and a grand mother who all live together as a family forever. The atmosphere in Vatsalya Gram is very much like a home anywhere. This close knit family called as Vatsalya parivar, has close relationship based on love. The aim is to make the children and mother complimentary to each other, obviating the necessity to establish an orphanage for destitute children or widow home for young & destitute women or old age homes for the old people.

It is not just an orphanage, it is a home of love. Here children are not treated to charity but are brought up as self respecting human beings. The children are brought up under Indian culture and sanskars; they are given physical, mental and spiritual training so that they grow up as well groomed citizens of the country. It is not the bell or whistle that wakes them up. It is the coaxing and cajoling mother who puts them in bed and ushers them through the day.

Children from Vatsalya Gram will be the source of inspiration and pride to humanity, our society and nation. In the tender care of Didi Maa; these children get an appropriate environment to make them complete individuals. These children as students would light the flame of knowledge, as citizens would be awakened about their duties, as parents would be enlightened about their responsibilities and as human being would be full of respect and compassion for others.

The children who had no hope, who were emaciated, who would have otherwise become helpless victims to forces inimical to our national goal today have their home and hope in Vatsalaya Gram.

Vatsalya Aawas

A residential complex has been built and each Vatsalya Parivar has been given an independent furnished house to live happily and cohesively. All related facilities have been provided in this complex.

Till the child is 9 years of age, he/she will live with the mother but after 9, he/she will be put under strict discipline of Guru and student hostel has been planned for this purpose.

On the other hand, staff quarters for married and staff hostel for single staff members of Vatsalya Gram have been planned.

OFFSHOOTS OF VATSALYA GRAM

Child being the main focus of the Vatsalya Gram project, all required programmes for raising the child from childhood to a responsible adult are being established here at Vatsalya Gram.

Residential Complex (Vatsalya Aawas): Vatsalya Residential complex has been built to accommodate Vatsalya families. This complex is fully equipped with modern amenities and traditional Indian vastu Architecture for a family to live comfortably.
Health : Healthy mind in heathy body will in turn build a healthy and powerful nation . A health center called Swasti is being established to look after the health of children and others. It has state of the art medical facilities and ICU for new born babies. The health center also provides education regarding Naturopathy , Yoga, and Physical exercise to promote good health.
Education : Samvid residential and day-boarding school will provide education to the children in Vatsalya Gram and other students . Differing from Macaulay's vision of book based learning, value based education for the ethical, spiritual & moral development of the children is being provided to prepare disciplined, dedicated and honest citizens.
Sports: Healthy entertainment and amusement is essential for the all round development of the child. Sports academy is a center for building up the physical health and mental robustness of all Vatsalya Gram residents and students. It is well equipped with all the necessary facilities for traditional, modern and adventure sports.
Vocational Training : In Udhyamika, tribal girls and women get vocational training so as to secure their future economically by developing skills of their interest and ability in craft and cottage industries viz. embroidery, glass bead works, candle making , bakery and food processing.
Spiritual Training : Children are groomed with Sanskars and essence of Indian culture for their spiritual development.
Mother Training : Mother is the first teacher of a child hence she herself needs to be knowledgeable enough so as to make her child an ideal citizen. Here women get training about religion, social reforms and child care.
Sant Niwas : Sadguru Sannidhi provide a pious and serene atmosphere for the visiting saints and religious personalities. Here they stay and bless their devotees with religious discourses and Bhagvat Katha.
Guest House (Radha Madhav Nilayam) : The guest house at Vatsalya Gram welcomes a traveler with its serenity and meditative atmosphere. Any one is a welcome guest. Do not miss a chance to visit, if you are passing by.
Gaushala : Cow is the foundation of our cultural and economical life in India. A separate place as Gaushala is being built for the protection and preservation of cow and its progeny. This also provides Vatsalya gram with fresh supply of nutritive dairy products.
