The cow is vital to life at Vatsalya Gram. In absence of breast milk for the newly born orphans, the cow is the virtual sustainer of life as she provides the milk which is fundamental to a healthy baby. The Gaushala also provides the Vatsalya Gram residents with fresh supply of milk together with nutritive dairy products such as butter, ghee and cream. In keeping with Vedic traditions, the cow is honored as 'mother' and is respected and well maintained at Vatsalya Gram.
